Ocean literature is considered one of the trendiest subcategories among Taiwanese literature. Series of researches centered on contemporary ocean literature had brought numerous discussions. While academic articles even dissertations draw attention to the theme, related education often stays elementary. How does this so-called trendiest subcategory of Taiwanese literature stand itself within high school, junior college, or university level? How does it shape readers’ habitually routines? Does it alter any individual’s thoughts into action?
This study was intended to search for possible responds to those topics. Based on circumstances and related restrictions, it centered its subject groups within Pingtong area. 668 designed questioners were distributed among high school and junior college level students. The outcome included preface, evaluation on marine education’s past and present stages, analysis of cognition upon ocean literature, and conclusion.
Based on this study, compared to internet literature, ocean literature, rose around 1990, seemed not yet having obvious influences upon senior high school students. It showed in spite of the attempts our government undertook to strengthen the educational aspects and authorized portions of ocean literature, yet the ocean literature education, in this case, is still undergo its beginner stage.
